The TAME Your Appetite Programs
The TAME Your Appetite: The Art of Mindful Eating programs are mindfulness-based eating awareness programs based on research by Jean Kristeller, PhD of Indiana State University. These programs are offered as a simple, easy to learn 5-step program or as a complete 12-session MB-EAT program. Both programs incorporate mindfulness practices to cultivate greater awareness of hunger (emotional and physical) and fullness, satiety and satisfaction, individualized food choices and emotional triggers for eating.
Mindfulness serves as the foundation for the entire program. Focusing on self-care, self-regulation (listening to your body’s natural feedback systems that send out messages that your body needs food or has had enough), self-nourishment, self-acceptance, kindness and curiosity, you will learn to cultivate your inner gourmet, decrease excessive eating and improve emotional responses to stress and other causes of emotional overeating. These results come over time. With practice you will get there. The more you practice the better your results.
At the conclusion of either program, you are invited to continue your work by joining a coaching continuity program.
TAME Your Appetite: The Art of Mindful Eating is offered through a variety of formats: Live programs, online courses and coaching calls. Each format teaches the practices and approaches of Mindfulness-Based Eating Awareness Training (MB-EAT) and other mindfulness practices to develop mindful eating and living.
