Here are some questions to explore as you practice mindful eating:

  • Am I really hungry?
  • Is my hunger physical or emotional?
  • When did I eat last?
  • Did I enjoy what I ate then?
  • Is the food I want to eat a food that I truly enjoy?
  • Am I craving it?
  • Could I walk away and choose something else or does it have to be this food?
  • Why am I craving this food?
  • Would a small amount suffice or do I need to eat the whole portion?
  • Have I had enough?
  • Do I want more?
  • Why do I want more?
  • Is there something else I could do now instead of eat?
  • What is stopping me from doing it?
  • Do I feel satisfied?
