Through mindfulness-based eating awareness, you will learn about different kinds of hunger. One such hunger is stomach hunger and how our bellies tell us it is time to eat. To become familiar with how your stomach beckons you to eat pay attention to these signals:

  • Hunger pangs or aches
  • Growling or grumbling sounds
  • Gurgling or pressure
  • Internal movement or distress

If you are not sure, delay eating for a while after you sense you may be getting hungry. The sensations of hunger should increase as a result of the delay and you will have a better understanding of what your body is trying to tell you.
