Mouth hunger is real. It’s the sensation you get when you want to eat something sometimes when you are not really hungry-hungry.

To figure out if mouth hunger is real hunger or just a signal to eat, ask yourself this question: “Mouth, what do you want and why?” If the why is genuine physical hunger, then feed your mouth. If the answer is something other than physical hunger, ask your heart what it is hungry for.
