We all know them. Those “well-meaning people” who shove food in our paths. How do you say no when you are being offered another serving by a loved one and you don’t want it? Or, at an office party and people insist you have a slice of cake?

It is possible to decline mindfully. Try this: with kindness and respect, tell them that you are not hungry right now, and would like to take whatever is being offered home for later. Then, you can enjoy it later if you are physically hungry for it, you can give it to someone else, or you can toss it. See…easy! No hurt feelings and no unnecessary eating.

Try it, and let me know what happens.
