We have all heard stories of Bridezillas. Ordinarily sweet, level-headed women who, when faced with the task of putting together a wedding, lose it. They rant. They rave. They scream. They shout. They demand. They coerce. They make the lives of those around them difficult. If you are a bride (or know one) who is having a hard time coping with all the wedding prep, here are 3 mindful tips to ground you and help you make this process joyful instead of stressful. Tip #1: Remember there is no such thing as a perfect wedding! As hard as you may try, something inevitably goes wrong. So, let go of any expectations of perfection, practice the principle of non-attachment, and set your mind on accepting what is and going with the flow. Tip #2: Meditate every day. A daily meditation session is your best defense against unruly stress. Getting centered and following your breath will calm both your mind and body and assist you in responding, rather than reacting, to whatever comes your way. Tip #3: Enjoy the big day! As you get ready to put on your dress, pause, take a deep breath and as you exhale bring yourself to the present moment. There is nothing left to do. What is done is done and what will be will be. Make the mindful choice to be present and to take in all the sights, sounds, and scents of this day. I promise you, it will fly by so quickly that, without a mindful mindset, you might miss it all and have to catch up by watching the video. What can you do to be present on your big day?
