After a tough day, it is quite common to want to eat to relax. Instead of turning to the fridge for relief, turn to mindful breathing.

Sit or lie in a comfortable quiet place. Take a few deep breaths and you do say or think “I am calm. I am safe. All is right in my world.”

Do this for several minutes, and when you are done, go on with your day. If you want to eat, eat, but chances are your eating will not be a binge. By the way, you can take this breathing break anytime you need it. You don’t have to wait until the end of the day.
