Giving up mindless eating, and eating mindfully, means in part learning to eat “on purpose.” It means approaching your food with intention. So, how do you do that? The next time you choose to eat, keep these questions in mind:

  1. Am I truly hungry or do I just want to eat?
  2. Will what I am choosing to eat meet my body’s needs or my mind’s? And
  3. Will I feel better – physically and emotionally – when I am done?

If you can answer each question with a Yes! You are eating “on purpose.”
