Mindfulness is synonymous with awareness. When you are eating mindfully, you are eating with awareness. Here’s a quick guide for how to do that:

  1. eat with minimal or no distractions – no TV, iPad, iPhone, i- anything
  2. use all you senses and notice the smell, look, feel, flavor and sound of the food and (3) listen for your body’s messages on fullness and satisfaction.

This doesn’t have to take long. Just a moment on each is being mindful.
