One element of the TAME Your Appetite approach to mindful eating is using Outer Guidance. Outer Guidance is reliable, valuable information that you use to inform your decisions on what to eat. This information is not a diet. Instead it is knowledge.

For example, reading labels and knowing what is in the foods you choose is a form of Outer Guidance. Recommendations from the American Heart Association is information you could think about applying. A list of “acceptable” foods from the latest celebrity-diet-guru is not. Make becoming more informed about nutrition, health and wellness part of your mindful eating journey. Your body will thank you.
