Since we are speaking of fire there is a fire, I would like you to add gasoline to and that is the fire inside you that drives your desire to heal.  When you first began your journey to be mindful eater, I am sure you were excited. You were motivated and filled with the hope that you have found something that will make a difference in your life. The funny thing about motivation, like fire, if it isn’t stoked it will die out. Today I would like you to revisit the reasons you choose to start this journey. If you wrote them down, pull them out. If you didn’t, write them now. Think back to when you first heard about mindful eating and what your impressions were. What did you hope to accomplish by taking on this new approach? Did you set any goals for yourself? Did you want lose a specific amount of weight? If yes, why and why that amount? Was your goal to be healthier? More at peace with food? Whatever your reasons keep them in front of you. Review them often. Add to them. Change them. Keep the fire within you lit. It will light the way when things get dark. Adapted from Mindful Bites – Joyful Life: 365 Days of Mindful Eating.
