One of the things I am enjoying most from my mindful eating practice is that I now choose the food I want to eat rather than the food I “should” eat. I have become a picky eater and a gourmet, all in one. I no longer eat food that doesn’t taste good to me, and I now carefully select what does. I enjoy sampling different tastes to see which I prefer. I take mindful bites and savor what’s there. If I don’t like something, I make a note to not choose/buy/eat it again. One thing I’ve noticed is that some foods I thought I loved, I really don’t. And others I hadn’t tried before are now favorites.
