Does this sound like you? “There are times I’m doing great eating mindfully, and then I forget and days, even weeks, can pass before I eat mindfully again. What am I doing wrong?”

If this sounds like you, you are NOT doing anything wrong. You are simply being mindless. Mindlessness is part of the human condition. We are all mindless from time to time, myself included. Instead of worrying about being mindless, be proud that you noticed your mindlessness. Doing that is being mindful! You are back on track! Just like in meditation, we practice returning to the breath each time our mind wanders, in life we practice returning to mindfulness each time we lose our way. Simply remembering to begin again and return to mindfulness is the answer. Every time you do that you strengthen your mindfulness muscle and the periods of mindless moments will shorten. You’ll see.

Check in with me from time to time and let me know how you’re doing. We can be mindful together.
