I often say that who you are is the sum total of all of your thoughts, feelings and experiences. Your weight is the sum total of all your thoughts feelings and experiences too. You are at the weight you are because of how you choose to eat, move, feel, think and act. If you want to weigh something different, you need to choose to eat, move, feel, think and act differently. You have to move away from something to move toward something else. With respect to mindful eating this means you have to be willing to let go of the habits that are not serving you and move towards habits that could. You need to be willing to change how you live. To change your lifestyle.

Since embracing mindful eating myself, I think of mindfulness as my new lifestyle. To the best of my ability, I try to be mindful in all my activities. Do I succeed? Sometimes. Do I keep on trying? Definitely! Think about the lifestyle you have chosen and its consequences. Then, consider what needs to change for you to have a different result.
