These four words are mindful eating in a nutshell. (Pun intended!)

SIT — set a place for yourself at a table and dine. Try to stop eating standing up, on the go, in the car, etc. You and your body deserve better than that.

BREATHE — before you eat or drink anything (sitting or not) take a breath. A nice, long, deep inhale and a long slow deliberate exhale. Such a breath will relax you and make your eating experience more enjoyable.

EAT — eat when you eat.  Do nothing else. Focus all your senses on your food and you will enjoy your food more and eat less of it as a result.

REPEAT — sit, breath and (just) eat each time you have a meal or snack and you can call yourself a mindful eater. Welcome to the club!
