We talk a lot about savoring food as we learn about mindful eating. How about savoring your beverages too? If you have been to a winery for a wine-tasting, you know what I mean.
At a wine tasting, the sommelier will inspect the wine’s color, fragrance and bouquet before taking a sip. Then, once she takes the sip, she holds the wine in her mouth to fully appreciate the subtleties of its taste. Then she spits it out! If you’ve ever been to a tea house, the tea is savored in a similar way.
So, the next time you find yourself with something to drink – a glass of wine, a cup of tea, a can of soda, savor it, and see if doing so changes your experience of it for the better.
